Michelle Lasnier opened Ruby's Market on South Pearl Street in 2020 as a home base for R Bazaar, her nonprofit for refugee and immigrant artisans. The shop stocks local and global snacks, spices, pantry goods and crafts, and runs Ruby's Pantry for refugee families. The name honors her grandmother's birthstone.
